Malaysians Close In On KL Crown

Ong Beng Hee led a trio of Malaysians through to the semi-finals of the Royal Lake Club Open - and will be hoping to overcome Pakistan's No4 seed Aamir Atlas Khan to set up an all-Malaysian final of the PSA World Tour Challenger 15 squash event in its second year at the Royal Lake Club in Kuala Lumpur.

Beng Hee, the top seed, claimed today's quickest quarter-final win, beating compatriot Elvinn Keo 11-5, 11-6, 11-6 in 33 minutes.

Former world No14 Khan ended New Zealand interest in the event with an 11-9, 11-9, 11-7 victory over Paul Coll.

Second seed Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan and No3 seed Ivan Yuen will contest the other semi. Yuen defeated 17-year-old Pakistani qualifier Tayyab Aslam 6-11, 11-8, 14-12, 11-8 in 72 minutes, while Adnan survived one of the longest ever tie-break games when he beat Austrian number one Aqeel Rehman 11-7, 20-18, 11-3.
