Mexican Favourites On Course For Panamerican Success

Top-seeded Mexicans Eric Galvez and Samantha Teran reached the quarter-finals of the Panamerican Championships in the El Salvador capital San Salvador after comfortable third round victories at the Maya Country Club.

Teran, women's champion in 2002 and 2004, beat local player Frayda Eisemberg 9-0 9-0 9-1 and will now face USA's Carlin Wing for a place in the last four.

Galvez, runner-up in the men's event for the past two years, brushed aside Brazilian Tiago Cabral 9-2 9-1 9-1 and will next meet USA's 19-year-old Christopher Gordon.
