Butt & Kahn To Contest All-Pakistan Islamabad Tour Final

4 Apr 2008

Teenagers Yasir Butt and Aamir Atlas Khan will contest an all-Pakistan final of the COAS International - and produce the youngest ever winner - after surviving today's semi-finals of the $25,000 PSA Tour squash event at the Mushaf Squash Complex in the Pakistan capital Islamabad.

Butt, the 19-year-old No8 seed from Lahore who scored a stunning upset over top seed and world No12 Ong Beng Hee to reach the last four, beat fellow Pakistani Farhan Mehboob 11-6, 11-8, 11-9. His 30-minute victory over the No6 seed takes Butt into his second successive PSA Tour final.

Aamir Atlas Khan, the 17-year-old fourth seed from Peshawar, survived two tie-break games against Jonathan Kemp before upsetting the second seed from England 11-8, 11-10 (4-2), 11-10 (2-0) in 32 minutes.

Now in his fourth PSA Tour final, Khan is looking for his third successive title success on home soil after winning last year's CAS International and Pakistan Open, both also in Islamabad.

Semi-finals:
[8] Yasir Butt (PAK) bt [6] Farhan Mehboob (PAK) 11-6, 11-8, 11-9 (30m)
[4] Aamir Atlas Khan (PAK) bt [2] Jonathan Kemp (ENG) 11-8, 11-10 (4-2), 11-10 (2-0) (32m)
