13 Sep 2007

Rebecca Chiu made a confident start in her bid to win a fifth WISPA World Tour squash title of the year - and the second on home soil - when she dismissed Malaysian qualifier Siti Munirah Jusoh in straight games in the first round of the Crocodile Challenge Cup in Hong Kong.

The former Asian Games champion's 9-3, 9-1, 9-1 win takes her into a quarter-finals clash with compatriot Elise Ng, who beat Japan's Sachiko Shinta 9-5, 9-6, 9-2.

There will be Hong Kong interest in two of the other three quarter-finals of the WISPA Tour 10 event after No3 seed Christina Mak beat South Korean qualifier Sun-Mi Song 9-6, 9-6, 9-4 and eighth seed Annie Au battled to a 9-6, 5-9, 9-5, 9-5 victory over Australian Lisa Camilleri.
