Line Dances To Satellite Success
28 Jun 2007
Line Hansen was taken the full distance by local heroine Delia Arnold in today's final of the women's NSC Satellite No4 - but held her nerve to secure a magnificent victory after an 81-minute marathon at the National Squash Centre in Bukit Jalil in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur.
Arnold, the third seed who reached the final after upsetting top-seeded Hong Kong opponent Christina Mak in the semi-finals, fought back from two games down to level the match - then took a 4-0 lead in the decider.
But Hansen, the No2 seed from Denmark, regained her composure to make up the deficit before clinching her dramatic 9-1, 9-2, 9-10, 3-9, 9-7 victory.
The win brings to three the number of WISPA World Tour titles the Dane has now chalked up at the Bukit Jalil centre since May.
Final:
[2] Line Hansen (DEN) bt [3] Delia Arnold (MAS) 9-1, 9-2, 9-10, 3-9, 9-7 (81m)
