Fuchs Finds Extra Local Slot In Austrian Open

Andreas Fuchs delighted local fans in his hometown Vienna when he fought back from a game down to beat England's Eddie Charlton 6-11, 11-8, 11-3, 11-8 in 55 minutes in the qualifying finals of the Austrian Open to boost local representation in the main draw of the PSA Tour event at Manhatten Squash Club.

The 28-year-old former Austrian national champion will face Argentina's No7 seed Matias Valenzuela.

In the first staging of the Austrian Open as a PSA Tour event since 2000, local hero Aqeel Rehman is top seed. The 21-year-old from Salzburg takes on French qualifier Johan Bouquet in the first round and is expected to meet Germany's second seed Friedrich Scheel in Sunday's final.
