Canadians On Course For Calgary Climax

Top-seeded Canadians Matthew Giuffre and Shawn Delierre are on course to meet in the final of the Talisman Energy Bankers Hall Club Open at the Bankers Hall Club in Calgary.

Favourite Giuffre, 23, from Edmonton, beat Australia's fifth seed Bradley Hindle 11-9 10-11 11-5 11-9 in the quarter-finals of the PSA Tour event to set up a semi-final against eighth seed Bernardo Samper. In a close contest with Aaron Frankcomb, Colombian Samper overcame a two-game deficit to defeat the unseeded Australian 9-11 9-11 11-9 11-10 11-8.

Second seed Delierre will also meet a South American in the semi-finals: The 23-year-old from Montreal ended qualifier Simon Rosner's run by beating the German teenager 11-5 11-6 8-11 11-5. Delierre will now face third seed Rafael F Alarcon after the Brazilian registered the only straight games win of the day in his 11-4 11-9 11-10 victory over Egypt's sixth seed Amr Mansi.
