Mansi & Butt Progress To Brazil Open Semis

Upsets by Canada's Sabir Butt and Egyptian Amr Mansi in the quarter-finals of the Brazil Open will ensure that an unseeded player will reach the final of the PSA Tour event in Brasilia.

Butt, 36, twice came from behind to overcome England's fourth seed Lee Drew 7-11 11-9 7-11 11-7 11-10 in a 99-minute marathon.

His semi-final opponent will be fellow non-seed Amr Mansi, who removed Czech No1 Jan Koukal, the No2 seed, in the biggest upset in the first round. In another five-game quarter-final marathon featuring an Englishman, Mansi defeated sixth seed Sam Miller 11-8 3-11 11-7 2-11 11-10 in 85 minutes.
