Locals Fall At Final Hurdle In Brazil

Rafael F Alarcon and Ronivaldo Santos will fight a lone all-Brazilian battle in the first round of the Brazil Open after their two compatriots Edilson Nunes and Eduardo Ruske failed to make it through the final qualifying hurdle in Brasilia.

Nunes lost 11-3 11-8 11-5 to El Iraky Omar Abd El Aziz, leaving the Egyptian to go on to face England's sixth seed Sam Miller in the first round of the PSA Tour event.

Frenchman Fabien Verseille defeated Ruske 11-9 11-7 11-10 to earn a first round meeting with seventh seed Mark Krajcsak, the Hungarian playing in his first PSA event since winning the plate competition in the World Games in Germany last month.
