Locals Bow Out In Lagos Quarter-Finals

Local hopes of success in the inaugural Women's Lagos International Classic expired on the second day of action as Nigerians Udeme James, Ajayi Omolola Adebimpe and Dasbak Longdi bowed out of the quarter-finals of the WSA Tour 15 squash event at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, Nigeria

James went down 11-6, 11-1, 12-10 to Egypt's top seed Heba El Torky while eighth seed Adebimpe lost 11-2, 11-7, 11-5 to South African Cheyna Tucker.

El Torky and fourth seed Tucker meet in the semi-finals for a place in the final.

Kaduna-born wild card Longdi also suffered a straight games defeat, losing 11-1, 11-2, 12-10 to third seed Milou van der Heijden.

The 23-year-old Dutch player now lines up against Deon Saffery after the No2 seed from Wales prevailed 11-9, 11-8, 11-9 against Linda Hruzikova from Slovakia.
