Down-and-out Zac Recovers To Make Las Vegas Semis

Australian Zac Alexander recovered from match-ball down in the third game of his Las Vegas Open quarter-final to ultimately outlast Ben Coleman and take his anticipated place in the semi-finals of the PSA World Tour Challenger 10 squash event at Life Time Athletic in Las Vegas, USA.

Seeded three in the eighth event of the year in the new US Pro Squash Series, Alexander beat his unseeded English opponent 5-11, 11-13, 12-10, 11-5, 11-6.

The Brisbane-born 24-year-old will now face Yasir Ali Butt, who took out fellow Pakistani Syed Hamzah Shah Bukhari, a qualifier, 7-11, 11-5, 11-8, 11-8.

Top seed Julian Illingworth carried US interest into the last four after beating Swiss qualifier Reiko Peter 11-6, 11-9, 11-5.

The New York-based 29-year-old will now meet Welshman Peter Creed after the fourth seed defeated England's Jaymie Haycocks 11-9, 13-11, 6-11, 13-11.
