Alexander & Camilleri Claim Classic Crowns

Australians Zac Alexander and Lisa Camilleri claimed the NSW Classic titles in the new international squash circuit event at Thornleigh Sydney Squash Centre in Sydney, Australia.

Brisbane-based Zac Alexander notched up his third PSA World Tour title in a row - and his fourth of the year on home soil - when he beat fellow countryman Scott Arnold in the final of the men's $6,000 Super Satellite event.

But the 21-year-old second seed was taken the full distance by compatriot Matthew Karwalski in the semi-finals before overcoming the No3 seed 9-11, 11-6, 11-13, 13-11, 11-8.

Alexander still had enough in reserve in the final, however, to register his first win in three Tour meetings with Scott Arnold, dismissing the Sydney-born 24-year-old 11-6, 11-9, 11-7.

The triumph marks the seventh PSA Tour title of Alexander's career.

The final of the women's $6,800 WISPA World Tour saw Lisa Camilleri record her sixth successive Tour title and extend her impressive unbeaten record to 23 matches in a row.

The 27-year-old Queenslander only dropped one game en-route to the final where she faced rising South Korean star Song Sun-Mi.

But the Melbourne-based top seed was too strong for second seed Song Sun-Mi, winning 11-7, 11-8, 13-11 to claim the 12th Tour title of her career.
