Teran Takes Southport Title

Mexico's Samantha Teran claimed the sixth WISPA World Tour title of her career when she beat USA's Latasha Khan in the final of the Women's Gannon Southport Open in Southport, USA.

The 25-year top seed, the reigning Pan American champion from Mexico City, maintained her straight games run in the event with a 9-5, 9-5, 9-3 victory over the seven-times US national champion from Seattle.

"It was a great game, but Latasha couldn't find her normal strong length, allowing Samantha and her aggressive style of play to win through," said a spokesman for the event.
