Barker Bounces Ball Out Of Coastal Contacts Final In Vancouver

A close-fought all-English climax to the Coastal Contacts Jericho Open ended when second seed Peter Barker beat eighth seed Bradley Ball in four games in the 2-star PSA Tour event final in Vancouver, Canada.

After upsetting two higher-ranked players to make the final, Ball was unable to make it a hat-trick - despite taking Barker, the new world No20, to tie-breaks in two of the games.

Barker, from Upminster in Essex, ultimately triumphed 11-10 (2-0), 6-11, 11-10 (2-0), 11-8 to claim his ninth PSA Tour title in his 11th final.

The England international delighted the Vancouver crowd when he announced that he would return to the city next year to defend his Coastal Contacts title.
