Phillips Boosts Home Hopes In Coastal Contacts Open

David Phillips beat fellow Canadian Keith Pritchard 11-3, 11-9, 11-2 in the qualifying finals of the Coastal Contacts Jericho Open to boost the domestic interest in the 2-star PSA Tour event at the Jericho Tennis Club in Vancouver, Canada.

Phillips, a 26-year-old from Montreal, is drawn to meet Eric Galvez in the first round. The No7 seed from Mexico arrives in Vancouver fresh from his victory in last week's Saskatoon Boast Open in Saskatchewan.

Canadian No1 Graham Ryding is seeded to win the Coastal Contacts Open crown. The world No19 from Toronto, who takes on Bermuda's Nicholas Kyme in the first round, is expected to face this month's world top 20 debutant Peter Barker, from England, in Sunday's final.
