Bianchetti Battles To Liguria Success

Italy's Davide Bianchetti delighted local squash fans at the Liguria Open when he beat Hungary's Mark Krajcsak to win the new PSA Tour event title in Genova.

The 29-year-old favourite from Brescia reached the final after beating England's sixth seed Tom Richards in the semi-finals.

Krajcsak, the fifth seed, ended unseeded Frenchman Julien Balbo's run in the semi-finals to earn his second place in a PSA Tour final.

But Bianchetti had the upper hand in the final, triumphing 11-6, 11-2, 11-7 in 54 minutes to claim the sixth PSA title of his career - and his second on home soil in two months after winning the Mega Italia Open in his hometown in April.
