Eight Nations Represented By Eight British Open Qualifiers

Eight different nations will be represented by the eight players who triumphed in the qualifying finals of the GillenMarkets British Open to claim places in the main draw of the most prestigious event on the PSA Squash Tour in Birmingham.
After two days of competitive action, the draw was whittled down from 32 to 8 players in both draws.
On an intense finals day, France's 2015 champion Camille Serme claimed a place in the main draw for the first time since 2021. In a repeat of the 2025 Franch Nationals final, the 36-year-old former world No.3 defeated compatriot Enora Villard in four games and will now take on Scotland's Georgia Adderley.
Scotland's Alison Thomson - the lowest-ranked player in the women's draw - scored a second upset in a row as she overturned a 48-place ranking deficit by defeating Canada's world No.52 Nicole Bunyan in four games. The Surrey-based 29-year-old will make her maiden appearance in the main draw after five qualifying attempts since 2014
Malaysia's Ainaa Amani and Indian teenager Anahat Singh will make their debuts in the women's main draw after defeating Haya Ali and Marie Stephan, respectively.
In the men's event, Dewald van Niekerk will become the first South African to feature in the main draw since Stephen Coppinger in 2017 after he defeated England's Finnlay Withington in straight games.
The only British winner in the men's event was Emyr Evans after the Welshman came through a four-game clash with Argentina's Jeremias Azaña. Egypt's Moustafa Elsirty beat England's Perry Malik in straight games whilst Pakistan's World Under-23 champion Noor Zaman claimed the last qualification spot.
