Waller & Lust Celebrate French Junior Open Double

28 Feb 2008

In a rare English double in the event, Adrian Waller and Victoria Lust lifted the titles in the French Junior U19 Open in Marseille - a week before the pair lost their British National U19 titles in Nottingham!

Waller, 18, from Enfield, was second seed in the men's event - and upset local favourite Gregoire Marche 9-6, 3-9, 9-3, 9-7 in the final to win his first European Squash Federation Junior Circuit title.

Victoria Lust, 18, from Bedfordshire, was also the second seed in the women's event - and faced England junior team-mate Victoria Bell in the final. Bell, a 5/8 seed, made her breakthrough in the semi-finals where she beat top-seeded compatriot Kimberley Hay.

But Lust ultimately claimed the title, recovering from a game down to beat Bell 5-9, 9-3, 9-3, 9-3.

Earlier in February, Herentals staged the Flemish Junior U19 Open - with top-seeded local stars Sam van Brusselen and Toke van Wesemael winning the titles.
