World Junior Team Championships Attract New Nations
14 Jun 2007
China, South Korea and Zimbabwe will make their debuts in the Hoe Hin White Flower Ointment Women's World Junior Championships 2007 in Hong Kong in August.
The biennial event, in its 12th edition since 1985, is being staged in Hong Kong for the first time - after a sensational win by the Asian nation in the 2005 championship, when the second seeds upset favourites and defending champions Egypt in the final in Belgium.
The 18 nations will be led by hosts and title-holders Hong Kong, and include five-times champions England, three-times champions Australia, double champions Egypt, and New Zealand, Malaysia, Netherlands, USA, Canada, South Africa, France, Germany, Switzerland, India, Japan - plus championship newcomers China, South Korea and Zimbabwe.
The prestigious championships will take place from 01-11 August.
Further details of team selections and seedings will be announced at a later date.
