Scott & Stacey Sink Seeds In Manitoba

Englishmen Stacey Ross and Scott Handley pulled off impressive upsets to reach the semi-finals ADL Optical/Rodenstock Manitoba Open in Winnipeg, Canada.

Sixth seed Handley recovered from two games down to despatch Canada's second seed Matthew Giuffre 7-11 7-11 11-8 11-2 11-5 in 72 minutes. The 31-year-old from Oxfordshire will now face France's fourth seed Jean-Michel Arcucci, who ended unseeded Bernardo Samper's brave run by beating the Colombian 11-10 11-4 5-11 11-9.

Ross took just 45 minutes to overcome Mexico's third seed Eric Galvez 11-6 11-6 11-4. The 32-year-old from Surrey will now take on Canada's sole representative in the event Shahier Razik. The favourite from Toronto defeated Montreal-based Shawn Delierre, the seventh seed, 10-11 11-6 11-2 11-3.
