Stoker In First WISPA Semi

England's Georgina Stoker produced a focussed performance against higher-seeded compatriot Kirsty McPhee on the second day of action in the Women's Liberty Bell Open in Philadelphia, USA, to reach her first semi-final on the WISPA World Tour.

The 20-year-old from Merseyside stemmed a fight back by fourth seed McPhee, from Yorkshire, to win 9-3 10-8 8-10 1-9 9-2.

Stoker now faces Samantha Teran, the top seed from Mexico who ended unseeded Jenny Wright's run with a 9-0 9-7 9-4 win over her Welsh opponent.

There was also an upset in the lower half of the draw when India's sixth seed Joshna Chinappa beat third seed Orla Noom, from the Netherlands, 9-3 9-6 2-9 9-3. The 19-year-old Asian Junior Champion from Chennai now meets England's second seed Sarah Kippax for a place in the final.
