Wright On Song In Philadelphia

Jenny Wright began her New Year on the WISPA World Tour in fine style by causing the only upset on the opening day of the Women's Liberty Bell Squash Open, the first event of 2006.

The unseeded 22-year-old from Wales defeated Karina Herrera Zuniga, the eighth seed from Mexico, 9-1 9-6 9-1 to claim a place in the quarter-finals of the event at Berwyn Squash Club in Philadelphia, USA.

Wright now meets top seed Samantha Teran, also from Mexico, who beat Canada's Ashley Clackson 9-6 9-5 9-1.

Teran is expected to face second seed Sarah Kippax in the final, though the 22-year-old from Chester needed four games to overcome English compatriot Susannah King 9-2 9-2 8-10 9-6.
