Gaessler Battles Into Brixia Final

German qualifier Patrick Gaessler is through to the final of the Brixia Open after beating third seed Luca Mastrostefano 8-11 11-4 11-8 11-8 in the semi-finals of the PSA Tour event in Brescia, Italy.

Gaessler made his breakthrough in the first round when he defeated Greece's top seed Fabian Kalaitzis in four games.

The 21-year-old from Stuttgart will meet Sweden's Badr Abdel Aziz in the final after the second seed beat France's Romain Tenant, the fourth seed, 8-11 10-11 11-5 11-1 11-5.
