Selby Soldiers On In Saskatoon

England's Daryl Selby maintained his winning momentum in the Saskatoon Boast Open at the Saskatoon YMCA when he upset Australia's seventh seed Simon Carruthers in the quarter-finals of the PSA Tour event in Saskatoon, Canada.

The 11-8 11-7 11-8 victory marked the fourth time in a row that the 22-year-old from Witham in Essex has progressed beyond his seeding in PSA events since September.

Selby now takes on Ireland's No3 seed Liam Kenny who twice came from behind to beat Zimbabwean qualifier Jesse Engelbrecht 5-11 11-5 6-11 11-6 11-5 in an 80-minute marathon.

There was another upset in the bottom half of the draw when sixth-seeded Canadian Shawn Delierre delighted local crowds by beating second seed Raj Nanda 11-9 11-2 11-9 in 46 minutes. The 23-year-old from Montreal will now take on Spain's fourth seed Borja Golan for a place in the final.
