Samantha Teran, Mexico's most successful squash player of all-time, put behind her the disappointment of a quarter-final defeat in the 2013 edition of Women's Abierto Mexicano de Raquetas when she sailed into the semi-finals of this year's WSA Tour 15 event at Universidad Anahuac in Huixquilucan, Mexico.

The former world No11 from Mexico City, the event's fourth seed, defeated New Zealand's No7 seed Amanda Landers-Murphy 11-6, 11-7, 5-11, 11-8 in 35 minutes and will now face Olivia Blatchford for a place in the final.

Fifth seed Blatchford, the US No5, celebrated the only upset of the day when she toppled No2 seed Aisling Blake, the world No36 from Ireland, 9-11, 11-2, 11-0, 9-11, 11-9.

The other semi will be the match predicted by the draw, between top seed Samantha Cornett and South African Siyoli Waters, the third seed.

Canadian Cornett crushed Argentinean qualifier Antonella Falcione 12-10, 11-3, 11-1 in just 20 minutes, while Waters was taken to five games by Tamika Saxby before beating the 8th seed from Australia 11-4, 11-3, 9-11, 11-13, 11-5.
