Koreans Take Up Hong Kong Challenge

Korean squash players claimed places in the first round of both the men's and women's events of the Crocodile Challenge Cup after triumphs in today's qualifying finals in Hong Kong.

In the $13,750 women's event, Lee Hai-Kyung fought off a challenge from Amanda Hopps to beat the Australian 10-9 1-9 4-9 9-5 9-0 in 57 minutes. The 30-year-old from Seoul has earned a first round clash with seventh seed Louise Crome, from New Zealand.

In the men's event, Seoul-born Kim Dong Woo earned his first appearance in the main draw of a PSA Tour event after beating local player Raymond Chiu 11-6 3-11 11-5 11-4. The 20-year-old also faces a New Zealander for a place in the quarter-finals - fourth seed Campbell Grayson.
