Kashif Captures Auckland Title

Top seed Kashif Shuja outlasted Egypt's Amr Ramzy Swelim to claim the Auckland Open title at the National Squash Centre in Auckland, New Zealand.

The New Zealand-based Pakistani overcame the ninth seed in today's final, winning a 50-minute battle in four games to avenge his defeat by the Egyptian in last week's South Island Championship.

Shuja, 25, won the opening two games 15-11 15-11, but squandered four match balls in the third to lose 17-16.

However, he bounced back to claim the fourth 15-13 to consign Swelim to his second successive runner-up finish in a PSA Tour event in New Zealand. The victory marks Shuja's third PSA title.
