Dutchman Dylan Delivers In Delft

24 Nov 2009

Dutchman Dylan Bennett justified his top billing in the inaugural Kean Open when he beat Australian Steve Finitsis in the final of the $6,000 PSA Tour event at Squash Delft in the Netherlands city of Delft.

Both players reached the climax after four-game semi-finals - Bennett beating Scotland's eighth seed Stuart Crawford and third seed Finitsis denying the hosts an all-Dutch final by defeating Piedro Schweertman, the seventh seed from The Hague.

But Bennett, the 25-year-old world No84 from Eindhoven, was too strong for the Queenslander in the final, despatching 26-year-old Finitsis, ranked just two places lower, 11-7, 13-11, 11-5.

Bennett was celebrating his 10th appearance in a PSA Tour final - and collected the third title of his career, and his second of the year after winning the Scandinavian Open in Sweden in June.
