Serme Surges Into Alexandria Final

France's eighth seed Camille Serme scored her second upset in 24 hours in the Women's Alexandria Sporting Club Open when she beat fifth seed Sarah Kippax to reach the final of the $25,300 WISPA World Tour squash event at Alexandria Sporting Club in Alexandria, Egypt.

The 20-year-old three-time European Junior Champion from Creteil made her breakthrough in the quarter-finals when she despatched local star Engy Kheirallah, the fourth seed who hails from the Egyptian city.

In the semis, Serme recovered from a game down to topple English opponent Kippax 4-11, 11-9, 11-5, 13-11.

The win takes Serme through to the eighth WISPA final of her career - but the biggest by a considerable margin.

In the final. the French star will meet Omneya Abdel Kawy, the top seed from Egypt who is also celebrating her first time in the Alexandria Sporting Club event climax.

Abdel Kawy, the world No7 from Cairo, also battled for four games before overcoming Lauren Briggs, the third seed from England, 11-9, 11-3, 10-12, 13-11.

It is the favourite's 18th career Tour final - and the second in a row in her home country after winning the Hurghada International in April.
