Grinham & Grainger On Course For Atwater Cup Clash

US squash star Natalie Grainger, who replaced Natalie Grinham in second place in this month's WISPA Women's World Rankings, is on course to meet her Dutch rival in the final of the Women's Atwater Cup after beating local hope Alana Miller in straight games in the quarter-finals of the $25,000 WISPA World Tour event at Atwater Club in Montreal, Canada.

Grainger, the three-time US champion from Greenwich, defeated Miller, the three-time Canadian champion from Winnipeg, 11-7, 11-6, 11-8 - and will now face fourth seed Kasey Brown in the semi-finals.

In a close encounter with Mexico's Samantha Teran, Australian Brown beat the fifth seed 13-11, 11-13, 11-7, 13-11.

Top seed Natalie Grinham, playing in only her second tournament of the year, brushed aside England's Suzie Pierrepont 11-4, 11-2, 11-6 and will now face another English opponent Laura Lengthorn-Massaro for a place in the final. Fourth seed Lengthorn-Massaro beat New Zealand's Jaclyn Hawkes 11-8, 11-9, 3-11, 11-5.
