13 Feb 2009

Home town girl Camille Serme gave her fans much to cheer about when she beat compatriot Laura Pomportes in straight games in the first round of the Women's Internationaux de Creteil to reach the quarter-finals of the $12,000 WISPA World Tour squash event at Centre Marie Therese Eyquem in Creteil in the outskirts of the French capital Paris.

Serme, the nineteen-year-old third seed from Creteil who won the French national crown for the first time last week, beat Pomportes 11-2, 11-2, 11-4 - and will now face another fellow countrywoman Celia Allamargot for a place in the last four.

Allamargot, the No7 seed from Marseille, defeated Russian Irina Assal 11-7, 11-7, 11-4.
