Selby Celebrates Danish Open Success

7 Apr 2008

England's Daryl Selby coasted to victory in the Squashlife Danish Open, comfortably beating Germany's Simon Rosner in straight games in the final of the $10,000 PSA Tour squash event at the Skinderskovhallen in Herlev, Denmark.

"It was a quick and painless victory for Daryl, who played a solid game and was in control throughout," said event spokesman Michael Bische. "Simon made a lot of unforced errors and was never close to seal the deal. He came back in the third game, but Daryl always had an extra gear if he needed it."

Selby, the event favourite from England, only dropped one game en-route to the final before despatching his second-seeded opponent 11-7, 11-4, 11-8 in 37 minutes.

The victory extends 25-year-old Selby's remarkable record in PSA Tour finals - in which he has triumphed in six out of seven appearances over the past three years.
