Siddall Soars Into Maiden WISPA Tour Final In Oslo

England's Lauren Siddall will celebrate her maiden appearance in a WISPA World Tour final after beating compatriot Emma Beddoes in straight games in the women's semi-finals of the inaugural Grays Norwegian Open in Oslo.

The 22-year-old fifth seed from Yorkshire defeated second seed Line Hansen in the quarter-finals, then despatched Beddoes, the No7 seed, 9-3, 9-8, 9-6 in 35 minutes to make the final at the new Myrens Sportssenter.

Siddall will now face top-seeded compatriot Rebecca Botwright, the 9-6, 9-1, 9-2 winner over Hong Kong's third seed Elise Ng.

The other event will also feature English interest after both Daryl Selby and Jonathan Harford beat their opponents in the men's quarter-finals. Top seed Selby needed just 22 minutes to overcome Italy's Luca Mastrostefano 11-8, 11-4, 11-1, while Harford earned the chance to play Selby for a place in the final after beating South African qualifier Clinton Leeuw 11-7, 11-4, 4-11, 11-10 (2-0).

The only upset in the men's event took place in the other side of the draw where sixth seed Amr Swelim beat New Zealand's No3 seed Kashif Shuja 11-6, 11-10 (2-0), 11-4. The Egyptian will now meet second seed Dylan Bennett after the Dutchman despatched Swede Badr Abdel Aziz 11-10 (2-0), 11-8, 11-5.
