Natalie Grinham Celebrates Career-High World Number Two Ranking

Three successive Tour title successes has taken Australia's Natalie Grinham to a career-high No2 in the new February Women's World Rankings, published today by the Women's International Squash Players' Association (WISPA).

Malaysia's Nicol David - the last player to beat the younger Grinham sister, in the final of the World Open in Belfast in November - retains her grip on the top position in the list, celebrating her seventh month in a row at No1.

Natalie Grinham, from Toowoomba in Queensland, went on to win the Monte Carlo Classic in December last year - then this year picked up the Marsh Apawamis Open and Harrow Greenwich Open titles, extending her unbeaten run to 12 matches and bringing her WISPA World Tour title haul to 10!

Natalie overtakes her older sister Rachael Grinham for only the second time. Rachael, who only once failed to get to the semi-finals last year in ten Tour appearances, slips to three, while former world number one Vanessa Atkinson drops to four - her lowest position for three years.

Natalie Grainger also celebrates her best ranking for a year. The 29-year-old from Washington DC - who will formally become a US citizen in February - reached the final of the Greenwich Open against the seeding, and rises to No6.

England's Alison Waters returns to the top ten at No10, while compatriot Laura-Jane Lengthorn moves up to No11 to become the fourth highest-ranked English woman for the first time. In addition, Dominique Lloyd-Walter returns to the top 20 at 18 to bring the English count in the top 20 to six.
