Kheirallah Crushes Kawy To Reach Houston Final

Egypt's Engy Kheirallah upset the seedings in the Women's Texas Open for the second day in a row when she crushed compatriot Omneya Abdel Kawy, the third seed, 9-2, 9-7, 9-1 in 23 minutes reach the final of the WISPA Silver event at the Downtown Club at the Met in Houston, USA.

It was the 24-year-old No8 seed from Alexandria's third upset in six months over the world No11. The victory takes Kheirallah into her fifth WISPA World Tour final - in which she will be looking to extend her impressive record of four wins out of four!

The Egyptian's opponent in the final will be England' top seed Vicky Botwright, who beat fellow Commonwealth Games star Shelley Kitchen 10-8, 9-1, 9-4 in 46 minutes. Botwright, the world No5 from Manchester, claimed silver and bronze medals in the doubles in Melbourne, while New Zealander Kitchen clinched a surprise bronze in the singles.

Botwright, 28, is celebrating her 12th appearance in a WISPA final and looking for her first Texas Open title after reaching the semi-finals last year.
