Ramy Races On In Islamabad

Just 24 hours after winning his opening match of the tournament in just 11 minutes, Egypt's world junior champion Ramy Ashour raced to a straight games victory in today's quarter-finals of the COAS International at the Roshan Khan Squash Centre in Islamabad, Pakistan, in only 15 minutes!

The 18-year-old from Cairo beat Arshad Iqbal Burki, the sixth seed from Pakistan, 11-2, 11-1, 11-4. The fourth seed will now face top seed Shahid Zaman for a place in the final.

Zaman, who will lead Pakistan's squad in next week's Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, beat eighth-seeded compatriot Khayal Muhammad Khan 11-7, 11-9, 11-5.

The other semi-final will also be an Egyptian/Pakistani clash, between second seed Mohammed Abbas, from Cairo, and Mansoor Zaman, the third seed from Peshawar. Zaman ended qualifier Majid Khan's run, beating his fellow Pakistani 9-11, 11-5, 11-5, 10-11, 11-5, while Abbas despatched India's seventh seed Ritwik Bhattacharya 11-3, 11-1, 11-8.
