Chuah Celebrates Islamic Games Success

Malaysia's Tricia Chuah upset top seed Carla Khan in the Women's Islamic Games squash final at the Enghelab Sports Complex in Tehran, Iran, to secure the first WISPA World Tour title of her career.

The 22-year-old second seed from Kuala Lumpur beat England's third seed Sarah Kippax in straight games in the semi-finals. In the final, Chuah defeated Pakistan No1 Khan, the world No23 ranked 25 places higher, 9-1 6-9 9-1 9-1 in 48 minutes to win the inaugural squash trophy in the Games.

Commenting on the Games, WISPA Executive Director Andrew Shelley said: "These Games have been a very broadening experience for both WISPA and our competing members. As all the indications are that the squash event of the Games was really well received, I am confident that we have cemented the relationship for coming stagings of them."
