ROWE British Grand Prix - Manchester 2011 Here Come The Girls!

25 Sep 2011

Event promoters internationalSPORTgroup have introduced a new initiative in the staging of the ROWE British Grand Prix Squash Championship in Manchester with sell-out crowds and online chat rooms covering the event showing their enthusiasm for the introduction of female models to help with the onsite presentation of the UK's largest PSA World Tour event.

As well as the introducing the players on, the girls have then also acted as attendants on the ASB all-glass court between games.

Sue Wright, the former England international and world No3, who is the event's compere, enthused: "The crowd love it - and at the end of the day it's all about providing entertainment around the squash.

"It's all the trimmings that make the difference between it being an average event - and a world-class event. It's all about upping the profile," said the Commonwealth Games gold medallist and four-time British champion.

The ROWE British Grand Prix - Manchester 2011, the fourth of nine PSA World Series championships in 2011 - and the biggest squash event to be staged in the UK this year - has attracted a star-studded field featuring 16 of the world's top 20 players, including six former world number ones.

The event climaxes today in a dream final between the top two players in the world. Nick Matthew, the world No1 from England, faces main Tour rival Ramy Ashour, the defending champion and world No2 from Egypt.
