15 Feb 2005

Ireland's Liam Kenny twice stemmed comebacks by Stephane Galifi to beat the top-seeded Frenchman 11-9 8-11 11-9 5-11 11-8 in the final of the Vitalstate Open in Quebec, Canada.

The Australian-born 27-year-old is currently enjoying a good run of form. Winner of the Brasilia Open in September, Kenny became Irish National champion in December and reached the Quebec final without dropping a game.

Fully tested in the final by Galifi, Kenny survived in 63 minutes to collect the eighth PSA Tour title of his career.

Final:
[2] Liam Kenny (IRL) bt [1] Stephane Galifi (FRA) 11-9, 8-11, 11-9, 5-11, 11-8 (63m)
