Facchini Boosts Local Interest In Mega Italia Open

Italy's Jose Facchini battled for 75 minutes to earn a place in the main draw of the Mega Italia Open in Brescia to boost the local interest in the event to three players.

The 32-year-old from Lucca beat South Africa's Jason Barry 11-10 10-11 7-11 11-9 11-7 and now meets England's No2 seed Andrew Whipp.

Whipp is expected to meet top-seeded compatriot Scott Handley in the final.
