Kheirallah Masters Manetta In Atlanta Marathon

Egypt's No2 seed Engy Kheirallah was fully stretched by Italian Manuela Manetta in the quarter-finals of the Women's Atlanta Masters before overcoming the seventh seed to take her anticipated place in the last four of the WISPA World Tour event in Atlanta, USA.

Manetta had already endured a 90-minute first round clash before facing the 23-year-old from Alexandria. The Italian took the opening game, but Kheirallah edged ahead in the next two before Manetta came back in the fourth. Ultimately, after 92 minutes on court, it was the second seed who prevailed as Kheirallah triumphed 6-9 10-8 9-7 5-9 9-3.

The Egyptian will face third seed Samantha Teran in the semi-final after the Mexican beat England's unseeded Georgina Stoker 9-1 7-9 9-5 10-9.

There will also be English interest in the other semi-final when Rebecca Botwright takes on USA's top seed Latasha Khan. Fourth seed Botwright beat Canada's Carolyn Russell 0-9 9-1 9-2 9-0, while Khan dismissed another Canadian Alana Miller, the fifth seed, 9-3 9-4 9-7.
