Seeds Vanquished in Vancouver

Almost half of the seeds fell on the opening day of action in the new Coastal Contacts Jericho Grand Prix in Vancouver, Canada.

Qualifiers Luke Margan and Simon Rosner both came back from a game down to beat higher-ranked opponents and claim unexpected places in the quarter-finals. Margan, from Australia, upset France's eighth seed Laurent Elriani 10-11 11-9 11-8 4-11 11-8, while Germany's Rosner defeated sixth-seeded Australian Simon Carruthers 7-11 11-7 11-9 11-5.

Daryl Selby maintained his impressive PSA Tour form in Canada by beating seventh seed Nicholas Kyme, from Bermuda, 11-10 11-9 11-4. The unseeded Englishman now faces compatriot Lee Drew, the No4 seed, for a place in the semi-finals.
