Hoevenaars & Lust Lift Nordic Junior Titles In Denmark

While Dutchman Tom Hoevenaars clinched the men's title in the Nordic Junior U19 Open as predicted by the seedings, England's Victoria Lust contrived three upsets in a row to claim the women's trophy in the European Squash Federation Grand Prix event in Herning, Denmark.

Top seed Hoevenaars cruised into the final after a whitewash over Sweden's 9/16 seed Joakim Larsson. In the final, the 17-year-old from Utrecht despatched second seed Ondrej Ertl, from the Czech Republic, 9-2 9-6 9-3. The success marked Hoevenaars' second ESF Junior Circuit title, after winning the Swiss Junior Open last season.

The women's title crowned a magnificent run for Victoria Lust, the 16-year-old 9/16 seed from Bedfordshire. Lust, a former British National U13 champion, made her breakthrough in the semi-finals where she trounced Tereza Dufkova, the top seed from the Czech Republic, 9-4 10-8 9-4.

In the final, Lust faced Spain's 3/4 seed Chantal Moros-Pitarch, and crushed the Spaniard 9-1 9-1 9-2 to secure her first ESF Junior Circuit title.
