Momen Masters Dessouky In Mumbai

13 Jan 2019

Egypt's world No.4 Tarek Momen claimed the second biggest PSA World Tour title of his career when he defeated compatriot Fares Dessouky in the final of the CCI International, the PSA Silver event in its sixth year in Mumbai.

Momen has been enjoying the best squash of his career so far this season and added to his trophy haul with victory in India courtesy of a five-game win over compatriot Dessouky - the former world No.8 who is currently languishing at 475 in the world after a 14-month injury absence from the Tour.

Top seed Momen got off to a strong start at the Cricket Club of India to take the first game before Dessouky, the event's fourth seed, battled back twice to push the match into a decider.

However, Momen was able to hold his nerve to take the victory 11-7, 7-11, 12-10, 10-12, 11-7 in 80 minutes and pick up his second PSA title of the season, after claiming his biggest tournament win at the Channel VAS Championship at St George's Hill in October.
