Abouelghar Lifts CAS International Crown

Second seed Mohamed Abouelghar captured the Serena Hotels CAS International Squash Championship crown after upsetting defending champion Omar Abdel Meguid in the all-Egyptian final of the PSA M25 event at the Mushaf Squash Complex in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Abouelghar had downed home favourite Nasir Iqbal in the semi-finals while Meguid despatched compatriot Karim Ali Fathi in four to earn his spot in the final where he was attempting to retain the title he won for the first time last year.

In the event's first final for 11 years that lacked any local interest, Meguid won the opening game - but underdog Abouelghar battled back to level the encounter.

The world No.36 took the lead for the first time in the third game - but Meguid again levelled after the fourth to set up a decider.

Abouelghar ultimately edged it to secure a 7-11, 11-9, 13-11, 6-11, 11-9 victory and claim the sixth PSA World Tour title of his career.
