Palmer Confirms British Open Entry

1 Sep 2005

Australia's David Palmer has confirmed with promoters iSPORTmarketing that he will be defending his title in the 2005 British Open Squash Championships.

The news comes less than a week after iSPORTmarketing concluded a pioneering new agreement with England Squash to host this year's British Open at the National Squash Centre in Manchester from 9-17 October.

"David Palmer is without question one of the game's biggest attractions and to have the reigning Champion confirm his entry for the 2005 British Open so soon after announcing that the game's blue riband event will be coming to Manchester is testament to the highest regard that the players hold for the Championships," said Paul Walters of iSPORTmarketing.

"David's entry is a major boost for everyone involved in delivering this year's event, particularly Manchester City Council who have given the championships unbelievable support at such short notice, and we look forward to confirming entries from the other leading players over the coming days, as well as announcing sponsors and levels of prize fund," added Walters.
