Victoria Lust, the world No.22 from England, made a stunning start to her season by winning the biggest title of her career at the $15,000 Colombian Open.

The 26-year-old top seed, runner-up in the 2014 championship, achieved the seventh World Tour triumph of her career and her first since April last year without dropping a game in Bogota.

In fact, she was on court for just 64 minutes in total, her final against fourth-seeded Colombian Catalina Pelaez lasting a mere 20 minutes, which was her quickest victory of the three.

Previously, Lust had beaten eighth-seeded Mexican Nayelly Hernandez 11-2, 11-5, 11-8 in 21 and third-seeded Canadian Nikki Todd 11-5, 11-8, 11-7 in 23.

"I'm really happy to have won today," said Lust, who is currently based in Canada.

"I thought that I played well. I want to congratulate Catalina on a great tournament. I have really enjoyed my time here in Colombia and hope that I can come back next year."
