Creed Retains BVI Title

Welshman Peter Creed became the first player to successfully defend the British Virgin Islands Open title when he beat unheralded Mexican Jesus Camacho in the final of the PSA Challenger 5 squash event at Tortola Sports Club in Tortola.

"I have been on the road for seven weeks now so what a great way to end the season, winning my second BVI Open," said the six-time Welsh champion after the 11-3, 11-4, 11-4 victory which brought up his second PSA World Tour title of the year - and the fifth of his career.

"Boat trip tomorrow to look forward to and relax," added the 28-year-old from Caerphilly.

It was a hugely successful performance by No.8 seed Camacho. Making only the third appearance of his life in the main draw of a PSA Tour event, the 17-year-old world No.256 from Mexico City defeated both England's No.3 seed Joe Green and home hope Joe Chapman, the second seed, to make the first Tour final of his career.
