Another Upset Sees Finitsis In Final

Australia's Steven Finitsis scored a second upset in two days as he downed seventh-seeded Malaysian Ivan Yuen in five games to reach the final of the Victorian Open, the PSA Challenger 10 event at the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre in Melbourne.

A day after ousting second seed Martin Knight, Finitsis edged Yuen in a five-game thriller 11-4, 11-7, 9-11, 14-16, 11-8 in 96 minutes to reach his second final in two weeks.

He will take on New Zealand's top seed and defending champion Campbell Grayson, who swept aside New South Welshman Matthew Karwalski 11-4, 11-5, 11-5.

Meanwhile, women's top seed Rachael Grinham cruised into the final with a commanding straight games win over Kiwi Amanda Landers-Murphy.

Grinham was in imperious touch as she crushed Landers-Murphy 11-1, 11-4, 11-2.

She will take on another New Zealander, Megan Craig, in the final following her gruelling 4-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-9, 11-9 win over second seeded Malaysian Delia Arnold.
