Pierrepont Makes Her Point In Mikkeli

England's Suzie Pierrepont charged into the final of the Women's Savcor Finnish Open after two successive upsets at the Sport Forum in Mikkeli. The fifth seed from Sussex will face Malaysia's top seed Sharon Wee.

After dismissing Ireland's fourth seed Aisling Blake in the quarter-finals, 20-year-old Brighton-based Pierrepont celebrated her third successive straight games triumph in the event by beating Denmark's No2 seed Line Hansen 9-3 10-8 9-2 to reach her maiden WISPA World Tour final.

Favourite Wee was severely tested in the other semi-final by Belgian junior Charlie de Rycke. The 27-year-old Malaysian, currently also based in Belgium, won the first two games - but 17-year-old de Rycke, from Ghent, fought back to take the match into a fifth game decider.

Wee, a runner-up in the event in 2002, used her experience to take back the initiative and claim a 9-4 9-7 3-9 3-9 9-2 victory and a place in her seventh WISPA final.
